Suicides among veterinarians become a growing problem
January 19, 2019
My first piece with WaPo, this piece details a chilling trend among some of America’s most selfless, caring professionals: veterinarians. Told through the eyes of current and former veterinarians who have lost friends, colleagues, and family members to suicide (or even contemplated it themselves), this story shines a light on the myriad of factors that make vets more than twice as likely to take their own lives than the average American. Furthermore, the article explores the nationwide efforts to raise awareness about this issue and bolster the much-needed resources to curb its effects.
